Why should choose lithium battery with CAN?

CAN is a communication protocol that allows lithium battery packs and battery management systems (BMS) to communicate information. It enables monitoring of battery parameters like voltage, current, temperature, etc.
Adding CAN to a lithium battery pack allows for more intelligent battery management and optimization. The BMS can monitor individual cell voltages and temperatures and take appropriate actions.
CAN enables advanced functions like cell balancing, charge control, thermal management, and state of charge/health determination. This extends battery life and ensures safe operation.
With CAN communication, the battery can transmit diagnostic information and alerts to other devices like the charger or host vehicle/device. For electric vehicles, this allows the BMS to communicate with the motor controller and other systems.
Lithium batteries with CAN require the BMS circuitry to have a CAN transceiver. The firmware and software must implement the CAN communication protocols and messaging.
During charging, the battery's CAN messages can allow the charger to dynamically adjust charge rate and terminate charging appropriately.
For battery packs assembled from multiple cells, CAN enables the BMS to keep cells balanced and prevent overcharge/undercharge conditions in individual cells.
